Hiking near the bridge

Camping at Martin Dies, Jr. State Park

We recently took a camping trip to Martin Dies, Jr. State Park about two hours north east of Houston. Here are a handful of the pictures I took from the weekend. We went camping with our small group friends from church, we had a blast. The mosquitos were absolutely awful but the food and company were great!

We also got to spend some time with our friend Chad Smith while we were camping. Chad has spent the last year living in Cambodia working to end sex trafficking with Agape International (http://agapewebsite.org/). It was interesting and encouraging hearing about what he has been doing in Cambodia over the past year. If you’re interested in hearing more about what he’s been up to, you can visit his blog at http://boundforcambodia.wordpress.com/.

Now on to the photos.

But first, a little bluegrass to set the mood:

  1. Love these photos! Particularly the one of the bridge. Surprising that open space like this exists so close to Houston – but encouraging. Is this the place that had a lot of mosquitoes?
