First off, I’d like to apologize for misleading you. I have no intention of telling you a tale of how beer changed my life and then suggest that you do likewise. However, beer is delicious and I implore you to drink a healthy amount in your lifetime.
I did read an interesting article about headlines (https://medium.com/writers-on-writing/784867080676) and how web traffic greatly varies based on the headline even when the content is exactly the same. So I decided to hold my own little simple experiment.
Hypothesis: By adding a ridiculous title to my weekly photo post, my view count will be higher.
Steps:
(1) Write photo blog post
(2) Add “shock and awe” title
(3) Some science happens
(4) Check to see if view count is higher
Cool, below are some photos from this week. Also, my mother wanted a few photos to print from years past. I re-edited them and appended them at the end of this post. Two of those pictures were taken near our family cabin in Montana. The other is a picture from just outside Boulder, CO.
Hope you like!
Also, a remix of a great band:

The images really fit with the song you have included.
Cool traffic idea. Totally caught my eye.
Thanks George! Using a title like I did is a total lie to the user and I don’t plan on using this specific tactic on future posts, but it really got me thinking about how I can better craft my titles to catch the readers attention.
