Headlines Drive Traffic, Not Content

Last week I learned something interesting about people. I posted my weekly photos under the title “How Beer Changed My Life And Why You Should Drink More” which was really had nothing to do with the post. I wanted to see how a “clever” title would drive traffic to my blog. It worked, I saw record high traffic (which isn’t much). I had 256 unique visitors last week, my previous record was 131, essentially double the traffic. What is also interesting is most of my traffic only viewed the one page, my views per visitor ratio was only 1.22 last week but in previous weeks it fluctuated between 2.45 and 17.0 views per visitor. Meaning that people didn’t stay on my site very long after visiting the page.  Take that as you will.

Anyways, this weeks pictures!

This weeks pictures come from a sunrise shoot of Downtown Houston as well as some photos I took over the weekend with my lovely fiancé.

Some RAC for you (https://soundcloud.com/rac):

These first couple I got one morning when I woke up really early on accident and decided that it was a sign that I should take some sunrise photos. Here are a few of downtown Houston:

My friend locked himself out of his car after church, while we were waiting for a professional to break into his car and get his keys, I took the following pictures. I was amazed how well the Nikon D7100 takes high ISO pictures. Its definitely not the same quality as the full frame cameras like the D800 or D4, but still impressive for a camera body < $1200.

My fiancé! Shot at 25600 ISO on Nikon D7100. Very grainy, but still potentially usable.

  1. Nice shots! I especially like the first picture of the stair and sidewalk and streetlights inviting you into the picture, with the zig-zag of the stair railing adding some action to the foreground.

Oh, yeah, and I especially think the world of your lovely fiancé!!
